Role Headline
The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing the People Business Service operations team based in South Africa and responsible for five customers in the region. This includes overseeing the daily operational activities, planning and managing workload by assigning tasks to staff to meet requirements in terms of efficiency, quality, compliance and customer user satisfaction while actively supporting the implementation of the global H2R (Hire to Retire) transformation.
Responsibilities of the Role:
Process Management
Driving the team to ensure robust process documentation and knowledge management practices.
Ensuring adherence to the globally set KPI's and quality framework.
The management of the local administration requirements relating to the global share plans.
Main point of contact for company liabilities with external institutions (e.g. Social Security, Insurances, Government departments) ensuring compulsory documentation is always accurate and updated for audits.
Final accountability relating to the HRIS and payroll information quality.
Identify and implement digitization of processes to enhance service delivery.
Ensure that the team has the required knowledge to support technology solutions such as Workday, People Experience Center, EPA, etc.
Continually measure KPIs and manage escalations to identify process improvement initiatives to integrate team learnings and deliver optimized performance.
Ensure adherence to all Business Conduct Guidelines and responsibilities such as EHS/Quality Management.
Decide on personnel resource allocation and manage related budget planning and reporting.
Drive productivity and saving targets; establish transaction-based pricing and ensure costs are proportional to income (BVI); continually drive measures to reduce cost per transaction.
People Management
Leads and coordinates the assigned team (both local and offshore) involved in providing service to South Africa and assigned countries.
Act as a role model, building a culture of teamwork, ownership, and trust. Empower and balance a team of skilled employees.
Workforce management including recruiting, retaining, and performance management.
Foster people development by setting targets, coaching, providing feedback, encouraging knowledge management, skills development, and fostering team culture to ensure a strong service attitude and high level of employee engagement.
Client Relationship
Build collaborative relationships with the management of the various customers within the region being supported by the team.
Conduct operational overview meetings with customers to report on KPI achievement and any governance matters.
Manage the implementation of the future roadmap of the global People Shared Service Unit.
Qualifications and Experience
Relevant formal qualification in Human Resources Management or equivalent experience.
5+ years of leading teams and projects in the HR environment.
Process and Change Management experience (advantageous).
Knowledge and experience in the administration of both Blue- and White-Collar Employees.
Understanding of Sub-Saharan Africa Labour Legislation.
Experience with Workday, PaySpace Payroll, and other HR IT Applications.
Good knowledge of operational people management core processes.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications (specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of Power BI reporting tools (advantageous).
