Payroll Manager

The Successful applicant will be responsible for all Manager functions and management of a payroll team within a division of the business.Education and Experience required:Matric (Essential)Relevant Payroll/Finance Qualification (NQF6) advantageousAt least 5 years' experience as a payroll officer managing a large portfolioAt least 1-3 years supervisory experience (advantageous)Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:Ability to form close working relationships with business stakeholders and maintain confidentialityAbility to quickly analyse and manipulate large quantities of financial data from multiple sources and draw out key matters of significanceExcellent communication (written and verbal) and good presentation skillsStrong MS Office Suite skills (Intermediate/Advanced Excel Essential)Good knowledge of relevant systems i.e. SAP and PRP/Biometrics SystemPlanning and organisingTeam PlayerLeadership and Management skillsFull understanding of tax and various bargaining council legislative rules.Key areas of responsibility:Ensure the delivery of the overall payroll function (i.e. leave administration, expense claims, travel, new employee onboarding, employee transfers and offboarding processes)Management of month-end processes and paymentsManagement of PRP within the teamsKnowledge of Systems and reporting i.e. SAP and PRP/Biometrics SystemsLead and manage teamsEstablish and maintain good relationships with stakeholders in operations and clientsEnsure accurate payments to Third Parties and Payroll paymentsReview payroll discrepancies, determine problem areas and initiate or recommend adjustmentsAssist employees and managers with payroll and benefits related queries
