Develop a Patient Support Programme and to provide patients and their families with patient care services and support.
This will include:Conceptualisation of the Patient Support ProgrammeYou will develop and enhance the Patient Support program, collaborate with international teams and stakeholders, manage a database of patient services, provide content for donor recruitment, and design processes for obtaining informed consent.Relevant Patient and Family CommunicationsYou will provide empathetic counselling and support to patients and their families, coordinate physician contacts and second opinions, address individual needs such as food and transport, manage patient data consent, and offer hospital visits and educational guidance throughout the process.Interface FunctionYou will coordinate with internal teams on patient groups, share impactful stories with marketing and press departments, and connect patients and their families with doctors and support groups.Data MaintenanceYou will maintain and update patient data while accurately documenting information in compliance with Data Protection legislation.Relationship BuildingBuild relationships and provide training, education, and awareness to healthcare professionals, NPOs, government departments, community health workers, and traditional healers and leaders to support project implementation.OtherYou will manage refurbishment projects, counsel potential family donors, assist with transplant programs, secure resources for donations, represent the organisation at public events, conduct media interviews, and coordinate events and visits for management and global teams.REQUIREMENTSRelevant BSc Degree, in fields such as nursing; genetics, etc.3 plus years work experience, working in a high-pressure environment.Experience of working with large database/CRM systems.An understanding of donor and patient confidentiality with strict adherence to the POPI ActWillingness to travel on occasions for training and workshops, both nationally and internationallyGood medical knowledge in the field of oncology and/or expertise in patient care.Knowledge of, or ability to understand, medical terminology, case-note documentation, medical history documentation.Willingness to become acquainted with a very specific discipline/branch of medical scienceAdvanced English skillsGood knowledge of Word, Excel, basic knowledge of PowerPointBasic knowledge of databasesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsNOTE: We ONLY accept online applications.
