Minimum requirements for the role:Must have a degree in law, legal studies, or a related fieldParalegal certification or equivalent legal qualification is advantageousPrevious experience as a paralegal in probate law or estate administration is essentialFamiliarity with wills, probate applications, and estate law in the assigned jurisdiction is requiredProficiency in legal case management software and Microsoft Office SuiteMust have strong drafting skills with attention to detail in legal documentationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to explain complex legal matters in a clear and compassionate manner is essentialMust have the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficientlyStrong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlinesMust be able and willing to work UK office hoursThe successful candidate will be responsible for:Assisting in the preparation and submission of probate applications, including inheritance tax forms and grant of probate applications.Managing the collection and distribution of estate assets in accordance with the will or intestacy rules.Preparing estate accounts and liaising with beneficiaries regarding distributions.Drafting and reviewing legal documents related to wills, trusts, and estate administration.Preparing correspondence to clients, executors, beneficiaries, and other relevant parties.Assisting in drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA) and related documentation.Serving as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing inquiries regarding the probate process.Supporting clients in understanding their roles and responsibilities as executors or administrators.Handling sensitive client matters with empathy and confidentiality.Conducting legal research on matters related to probate, trusts, and estate law.Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including tax implications.Investigating and resolving issues related to estate assets, liabilities, and title matters.Maintaining organized and accurate case files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.Managing case progression and monitoring deadlines to ensure timely completion of probate matters.Assisting with billing, invoicing, and other financial aspects of estate administration.Working closely with solicitors, tax advisors, and other legal professionals to ensure comprehensive management of estate matters.Liaising with external parties such as banks, financial institutions, and the probate registry.Please note that subsequent to the screening and shortlisting process, all further communication will be entered into, only with the shortlisted candidates
