They pride themselves on protecting their clients' interests while striving for excellence in every aspect of their service.Purpose of the Role:As an Owner's Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing energy assets on existing sites, interpreting client requirements, analysing technical details related to asset performance, and incorporating risk factors into fee structures for proposals. Your role will involve collaborating closely with clients to meet their needs and crafting persuasive proposals to secure deals and increase our assets under management.Duties and Responsibilities:Evaluate existing project sites to understand current conditions and requirementsConduct site inspections and technical analyses to gather essential information for project planning and proposal developmentIdentify and assess technical challenges and risks associated with the projectEngage with clients to understand their specific needs, expectations, and project goalsTranslate client requirements into technical specifications and project scopesProvide technical insights and recommendations to clients based on site assessments and project analysisDevelop detailed proposals, including risk assessments and fee structures, to address client needs and secure project tendersIncorporate technical terminology and risk management strategies into proposals to ensure comprehensive and competitive bidsCollaborate with the sales and business development teams to refine proposal content and strategiesIdentify potential risks and challenges in the project scope and site conditionsDevelop strategies to mitigate identified risks and incorporate these strategies into project fee structuresEnsure that all risk factors are clearly communicated and addressed in proposalsPrepare and present technical proposals and tenders to clients, highlighting key strengths and addressing any concernsSupport the sales team in client meetings and presentations, providing technical expertise and answering queriesFoster strong relationships with clients to enhance the likelihood of winning tenders and securing projectsMaintain accurate records of site assessments, client interactions, and proposal details.Prepare and deliver reports and updates on project assessments and proposal statuses to internal stakeholdersStay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to enhance proposal quality and project executionContribute to the development of improved processes and strategies for project assessment and proposal developmentQualification and Experience:Educational BackgroundBachelor's Degree: Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a related field)Professional Certification: Professional Engineering licence (PE) or equivalent certification is preferredExperienceMinimum of 5 years in engineering, with a focus on project assessment and proposal developmentStrong understanding of technical jargon, site analysis, and risk managementProven experience in developing proposals, managing client requirements, and securing project tendersExperience with modelling software (e.g., PVSol, PVSyst) and engineering toolsBackground in engineering consulting, the renewable energy sector, or EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction)Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practicesExperience in sales or business development is an advantageStrong analytical and commercial skillsSkills and CompetenciesExcellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address technical challenges effectivelyExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teamsProficiency in relevant engineering software and toolsStrong understanding of commercial aspects and ability to manage client requirements and secure project tenders
