Operations Manager

Our client is looking for an Operations Manager (Senior Local Logistics experience) to join their team in the Wellington.
Experience as a Senior Logistics Coordinator within local transport will be very beneficial.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
In co-operation with management, the sales team and area / procurement managers, execute and manage the logistics from the farms to end clients.Appoint, negotiate, agree SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and oversee operations with:Transport service providersWarehouse service providersClearing agentsPort service providersShipping lines & freight forwardersEnsure timely and effective communication between all internal and external stakeholdersBuild and maintain relationships with service providersReporting on all logistics activities and costsMeeting logistics KPIsEnsure all administration related to logistics service providers is accurately and timeously completed.Regular visits to service providers and operational sites. Adequate tertiary qualificationExperience in logistics and supply chain managementProven record of successfully building and managing relationships with logistics service providersManagement experienceComputer literateStrong negotiation skillsUnderstanding of management and reporting systemsAvailable to travelBased in Wellington, Western CapeStrong communication and relationship building skillsAbility to work independently, as well as in a teamEasily adaptableManagement skillsStrategic approach to logisticsProblem solving skillsEffective time managementEffectively negotiating with and managing service providers REMUNERATION
