Let us be part of your solution.IntroductionThe operations manager will provide strong and ethical operational support to the Branch manager and be responsible for the day and night shift operations.Responsibilities• Ensure all loaded vehicles are utilized according to guidelines & all are dispatched on time for delivery as planned• Ensure daily allocations are sent to control room for monitoring vehicles on local and outlying areas• Follow up on allocated linehaul arrival times and report delays to Management and linehaul control• Branch Reports to be checked, analysed & resolved daily• Planning of daily headcounts for Ops requirements based on volumes• Regular Floor walk with Supervisors/Checkers to ensure optimum housekeeping• Communicating with Clients on delivery queries & inquiries• Monitor Booking dates of Supply Chain Clients/ Delivery Booking for Express• Complete loading plan and discuss with OPS team with clear communication to loading team for execution• Ensure smooth handover process between day- & nightshift teams• Monitor delivery volumes / Collection & IBT ETA's• Communicating with Stores on delivery delays• Check Floor Reports for aging stock and ensure FIFO is applied• Report & investigate discrepancies such as shortages & damages on delivery & from linehaul vehicles• Taking Staff statements of incidents• Ensure Health and Safety are maintained & applied in your area of work• Monitor compliance of supervisors to meet deadlines for deliveries/ collections• Ensure & maintain high standard of Service delivery (OTIF Report)• General Management of company assets – walls & wheels• Investigate all branch claims• Ensure that discipline is always maintained• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping• Ensure daily planning of Linehauls to Branches and space allocations• Inform & update staff on new clients & requirements• Reporting of any issues to managementMinimum RequirementsMatric (Degree / Diploma in Logistics or related field would be beneficial)A minimum of 3-5 years working experience in logistics in a middle management roleReporting and effective communicationGood problem-solving skillsComputer literate and excel proficiency a mustKnowledge of vehicle tracking systems, fleet management & route planningKnowledge of transport management systemsAbility to work under pressureValid Driver's licenseOwn Transport essentialRespect and Care: Always show respect, care for and treat everyone fairly, put people firstIntegrity and Loyalty: Display loyalty, display integrity, do the right thing always!Can Do: Must have a can-do attitude, believe in yourself, and live out our values always.Continuous Improvement: Must be dedicated to continuous improvement, be innovative and constantly learning to keep ahead.
