Reporting directly to the Operations Director (or any other superior as appointed by the management), the MECHANICAL OPERATIONS MANAGER will be responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing process from issuing the drawings to shipping of the completed machine/components to clients.Key Performance Areas:Oversee the entire production process from D.O. to dispatch with particular reference to a fixed manufacturing schedule. He/she will be the main liaison between the drawing office/shop floor and the shop floor/installation teams.Manage and prioritize the movement of materials and equipment from one holding area to the next as the process requires. Progress to be updated on the "Contract Drawing and Control Sheets".Provide feedback to the drawing office of all corrections, changes or modifications required to designs or drawings.Assist in spare projects & breakdowns by arranging parts and staff to rectify the problem quickly.Be involved in the stores & ordering process together with the buyer to ensure the availability of raw materials, equipment and consumables required to complete projects by due dates.Control costs and expenses by maximizing the utilization of available manpower and equipment.Allocate job cards, ensuring the correct information is returned and the cards reach the administration department on a regular and consistent basis.Ensure that materials are booked to the correct contract number.Minimize material costs and wastage.Oversee all aspects of quality control during the manufacturing process and on the finished product by performing regular Q.C. inspections.Arrange, manage, package, and ship all completed equipment, materials and documentation to the required site.Be directly in charge of all shop floor workers and staff allocated to himself/herself, including their performance, safety, and training.Ensure that all required safety equipment is available, in good working order, and used when required.Maintain general housekeeping, machine maintenance, safety, and hygiene in the workshop, dispatch, and car park areas.Draft and implement company procedures covering all aspects from safety to QC.Ensure all company equipment is loaded with work to maximize production rates and reduce costs associated with sub-contractors (robots, punching and folding machines, etc).Keep staff time sheets up to date and correct.Seniority LevelMid-Senior levelEmployment TypeFull-timeJob FunctionManagement and ManufacturingIndustriesManufacturing
