Job OverviewTo ensure effective and efficient provision of stable network infrastructure connectivity to the customer by managing operations to meet all SLA. The role will also oversee audit reviews and all technical functions and development projects - implementations, upgrades, optimisations, problem solving, investigations, rectifications, support and maintenance. Directing the procurement of capital equipment, negotiating with vendors and controlling assets.Duties & ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES:Developing specific plans to ensure that the Customer Network Plan is adhered to, this entails:iOS Upgrade planning aligned to the remediation of vulnerabilitiesReview of the configuration templates aligned to CIS standardProducing network designs in accordance with Customer approved standardsDevelop and update network diagrams for projectsLiaising with regional network specialists and operations with regards to implementation.Network capacity and implementation planning by:Facilitating network planning by optimizing network capacity and configurationEnsuring optimal long-term expansion and refurbishment of the network by developing network expansion and refurbishment master plans fully integrated with the Customer Network PlanEnsuring that the regional network planning and implementation is coordinatedPerforming complex network configuration and network capacity analysis of Customer's networkManage the Implementation, maintain and support of the Customer network infrastructure by:Performing support functions as agreed, which include the development and implementation of planning, of all policy and standards as prescribed by Customer. Performs regular system and project audits to ensure conformanceManage the resolution of complex network issuesManage and plan the continuous maintenance of the network infrastructure which involves testing, upgrades and deployment.Optimising infrastructure capabilities in line with best practice.Manage Contractual Obligations.Staff Training Plans to meet the skills requirement of the Customer ContractManage all BAU project in the environmentReview major network changes.Ensure that all network components are being monitoredManage incident management on a day-to-day basis to ensure that all SLAs are met.Desired Experience & QualificationFORMAL EDUCATION:Grade 12 (NQF 4)IT Business related qualification (desirable)EXPERIENCE:5 – 7 years experience in operations management with experience in:Management of operationsNetwork services and solution supportStrategy design and implementationExperience in Vendor/Supplier managementTECHNICAL / LEGAL CERTIFICATION:Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)Project Management Professional (PMP)KEY COMPETENCIES:Knowledge:HR principles and resource managementManagement of the Production environmentNetworking technology and the wider IT InfrastructureITIL and other relevant FrameworksProject Management principlesContracts ManagementProcurement procedures and processesStrategic understanding of the technical vs. business environmentSkills:Leadership and People managementFinancial management, budgeting, actuals and forecastingAble to portray a strategic perspective of technical vs. business environmentCommunication skills (both written and verbal)Interpersonal skills: effective collaboration across levels and within teamsAnalytical and problem-solving skillsPersonal Attributes:Deciding and Initiating actionAnalysingCreating and InnovatingFormulating strategies and conceptsPlanning and OrganisingDelivering results and meeting customer expectationCoping with pressures and setbacksEntrepreneurial and commercial thinkingInterested?Preference will be given to designated individuals within the employment equity framework of Gijima.
