We are seeking a Corporate Operational Accountant for our client, reporting to the Head of Transactional Finance RSA.
This role will serve as the 2IC to the Head of Transactional Finance RSA, with potential for direct reports after proven success.The primary responsibility is to support all departments within Transactional Finance (TF), focusing on Corporate Brands.
The Operational Accountant will manage financial health and operational efficiency, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective controls, and streamlined processes.
You'll collaborate with various departments, support TF leads on project deliverables, and adapt to evolving business needs.

Strong alignment with company culture, the ability to work under pressure, and a focus on growth are key to thriving in this role.You will partner with operations and management to handle queries and support the Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Billing, Settlement Plan, and Central Payments teams.Key areas of support include but is not limited toSupport onshore and offshore teamsMaintain accurate records of all daily financial transactions.Update financial data in internal and external systems.Support on payments queriesHandle accounts payable and receivable, along with reconciliation tasksManage support queries in Freshdesk (clients, suppliers, operational teams),Provide audit support,Analyse financial data and prepare month end KPI reports andHighlight issues to the Head of Transactional Finance,Support with various systems,Be the go-to person for operational Area Leaders helping to co-ordinate query resolution within the greater TF team.Primary duties and responsibilities (KRAs)Accounting & Financial Management:Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.Support with UA clearance (un-allocated amounts) and AR and AP reconciliations as neededSupport with large value payment authorisationsSupport with any operational query understanding the accounting implications.Operational Support:Collaborate with operational teams to align financial processes with business needs.Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational efficiency.Assist Corp TF TLs with drives, clean up projects etc.Assist with Client recons, debt collection etc.Audit & Compliance:Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.Process Improvement:Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.Automate routine tasks using accounting and operational tools.Stakeholder Communication:Serve as a liaison between the finance team and operational departments.Present financial insights and operational metrics to management.Key communication and relationshipsInternal: Head of Transactional Finance, Transactional finance team leaders, Mid office support team, Business services finance team, global reporting teams, CFO, Operations leaders, internal auditors, greater finance team.External: Suppliers, Banks, External auditors, Clients, system administrators where required.Requirements:CA (SA) or similarly ranked qualification.3+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with exposure to operational responsibilities preferred.Strong understanding of financial and accounting procedures, with attention to detail and accuracy.High proficiency with financial software and MS Excel (Advanced skills).Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills in English.Proven track record of working with multiple stakeholders and resolving complex queries.Strong customer service orientation and negotiation skills.Ability to reconcile complex statements and resolve discrepancies.Effective time management, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented.Proficiency in working with multiple systems and a strong willingness to learn.Logical problem-solving approach and a focus on continuous improvement.Team player with a focus on achieving team goals.
