Who We're Looking For: The Bay Hotel with the majestic Twelve Apostle Mountain range as a backdrop and the Atlantic Ocean less than a minutes' walk away, in the heart of glitzy Camps Bay has a position for a Operational Accountant to join their team of extraordinary people.
An opportunity exists for a young and energetic candidate with sound financial background to form part of the finance team who will oversee, design, and implement controls to ensure good financial practices are implemented and adhered to in the Tourism, Property and Finance sector.
You will ensure the financial practices and information are in line with company policy and all statutory legislation & regulations and be responsible for providing financial management support and advice (typically in the form of financial reports, cost control & financial trends and ratio's) to stakeholders of the Company, to enable them to make sound business decisions.
What is required: To manage and control all operational and accounting aspects of the following functions:
Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts & Financial ReportingCost Analysis & ControlTax ComplianceTreasury Function & Cash ControlHomeownersRelated Party MatrixProcurement (Chemicals, Linen, Amenities)Stock ControlPayrollFixed AssetsBudgeting & Budgetary ControlAccounts receivableCreditorsExternal Audit & Preparation of Annual Financial Statements (AFS)Ad-Hoc RequestsSupport the Financial Managers and Chief Financial Officer with any queries relating to Finance departmentMinimum Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent is essentialDegree or Diploma in Accounting / Cost and Management AccountingSAIPA completed articles (1-2 years post articles)2 or more years' experience in similar fieldComputer literate with advanced skills in MS OfficeSage EvolutionHospitality Accounting experience (Beneficial)Opera (Beneficial)Competencies / Skills Communication:
