Key Responsibilities:Production Management:Develop and implement production schedules to meet operational and market demandsMonitor daily production activities to ensure efficiency and productivityAnalyze operational data and adjust plans to optimize outputHealth, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:Ensure all operations comply with safety and environmental regulationsPromote a culture of safety and conduct regular safety auditsInvestigate and report incidents, implementing corrective actionsTeam Leadership:Supervise and manage production staff, including miners, engineers, and support teamsConduct performance reviews, provide training, and mentor employees to enhance skills and performanceFoster a collaborative and inclusive workplace environmentResource and Equipment Management:Oversee the maintenance and effective utilization of mining equipment and machineryPlan and allocate resources, including manpower and materials, to ensure uninterrupted operationsBudgeting and Cost Control:Prepare and manage budgets for production operationsMonitor expenses and identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or safetyReporting and Documentation:Prepare production reports, forecasts, and performance analysis for senior managementMaintain accurate records of operations, maintenance, and compliance activitiesMinimum Requirements:Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related fieldRelevant certifications in mining safety and operations (e.g., Mine managers Certificate) will be advantageousMinimum of 10 years in coal mining operations, with at least 6 years in a supervisory or managerial roleExperience with underground or surface mining methodsStrong knowledge of coal mining processes and technologiesFamiliarity with mining software and equipment maintenance systemsExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsProficiency in budgeting, forecasting and cost managementAbility to make data-driven decisions and solve complex problems
