Network Engineer

A leading Telecoms company is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design and implement network solutions that meet their business needs. This hybrid role in Manchester requires adherence to strict deadlines, flexibility to changing requirements, and includes on-call responsibilities.
Responsibilities:Design, document, and implement network solutions to deliver on business objectives.Oversee the delivery of multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.Ensure optimal network operation by contributing to the build and capacity management of the network.Resolve complex network & system incidents promptly to meet SLA's.Engage & manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.Improve process efficiency through automation to enhance operational efficiency in the Network Engineering team.Participate in on-call rota which is 1 week out of every 5 (on-call rate is paid).Mentor and support graduate engineers to aid development.Minimum Requirements:5+ years in operations/build within an Internet Service Provider.Degree in Engineering, Maths, or Science.1+ year experience within design/automation role.Technical knowledge of GPON/XGS-PON, QoS, virtualisation (VMWare ESXi, Proxmox VE), MPLS, network automation (Python, Ansible), security solutions (Fortinet, Palo Alto).Advanced knowledge of L2/L3 protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS).Experience with NMS tools such as LibreNMS, Grafana, SolarWinds.Clean UK driving license and own vehicle.
