Job Description Job Title: Network Developer Location : Durban, South Africa Workplace : Durban-Formosa Rd 103 Domain : Strategy, Economics, and Business Contract Type : Regular Position Experience : Minimum 6 years Context & Environment The Network Developer is responsible for: New network growth : Identifying, negotiating, and proposing profitable investments in new network assets and managing these projects during construction.
Existing network preservation : Ensuring profit retention and growth for CODO, CLDO, and DODO stations.
Key Activities Existing Network Management Manage principal lease agreements for CO and DO stations, ensuring contracts are complete and renegotiated profitably and timely.
Plan and execute redevelopment projects in collaboration with relevant departments.
Manage a portfolio of DO stations to promote incremental value generation and site retention.
New Network Investment Management Conduct market analysis to identify growth opportunities and prepare area strategy documents with the Network Strategy and Planning Manager.
Develop and present investment proposals for management approval.
Validate feasibility studies for new network developments, incorporating market data and collaboration with various stakeholders.
Negotiate and finalize deals for new investments and manage land acquisitions for proposed developments.
Work with retail divisions to analyze projects and prepare investment proposals for new facilities.
Obtain and manage legal and regulatory approvals (EIA, DOE licenses, traffic approvals, town planning).
Collaborate with the construction team for project updates and report progress to retail management.
Ensure smooth handover of projects to operational teams.
Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) Minimize HSE risks by ensuring compliance with policies, rules, and legal requirements.
Promote a safe working environment and contribute to HSE KPIs and risk reduction strategies.
Governance Ensure effective risk management, internal controls, and procurement compliance.
Maintain accurate and secure project documentation.
Monitor and respect project budgets and approved scopes.
Address deviations via validated amendments.
Requirements Candidate Profile Qualifications Tertiary qualification in business, legal, property, or a similar field (M+3 qualification).
Advantageous: Experience as a Territory Manager.
Experience Minimum 6 years of general work experience.
At least 2 years of project management experience.
Valid driver's license.
Skills and Knowledge Proficiency in marketing, finance, real estate, and legal disciplines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with commercial acumen.
Expertise in negotiation and the ability to interpret financial information.
Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
Knowledge of town planning, environmental and traffic regulations, DOE licensing, property law, building approvals, and financial calculations.
Familiarity with company policies and procedures.
