Mould Setter

The Mould Setter is responsible for managing the entire injection mould and extrusion processes. This includes changing moulds, setting up machine parameters, troubleshooting, operating, and maintaining injection moulds and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the injection moulding process, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Set up and adjust injection moulding machine settings. Perform and oversee the mould and material changeover processes. Ensure that mould setup and changeovers meet established standards. Install and configure necessary equipment including water lines, knockout bars, hydraulic lines, air lines, switches, hoppers, dryers, conveyors, and auxiliary equipment. Ensure smooth start-up of new jobs, making adjustments as necessary. Troubleshoot processing issues, perform adjustments, and conduct regular checks. Verify that moulding machines and supporting systems are set to correct parameters and meet production goals. Implement process parameter changes to improve cycle times. Inspect first-off parts to confirm they meet customer specifications. Monitor, train, and coach machine operators to ensure adherence to procedures. Monitor stock levels of consumables and ensure timely ordering to maintain adequate supplies. Obtain quotes and order basic mould parts, such as ejector pins and hydraulic fittings. Grade 12 (High School Matric) (Required). Course/training as an Injection Moulding Setter preferred. Previous experience as a mould setter in an injection moulding facility is preferred. Experience with lift truck, rigging, and crane operation. Experience with Yizumi machines is beneficial but not required. Job-Specific Skills: Strong understanding of the injection moulding process and machine settings. Knowledge of various plastic materials and their processing characteristics. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand and power tools. Understanding of the safe setup and operation of injection moulding and extrusion equipment. Basic maintenance and care of injection moulds.
