Job DescriptionTo assume responsibility for quantifying the additional damages and completing costing queries in the Assessing department.

Are you someone who can: Provide input into the development of the business area tactical strategy in achievement of the overall business strategyDevelop and implement an area operational plan in achievement of Business objectivesTake all necessary actions to ensure compliance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy and governance requirements in area of accountabilityEnsure implementation of relevant policies, governance and practice standards across the businessMaintain expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments, industry best practices and internal compliance procedures and requirementsEnsure compliance is adopted in terms of systems and procedures as laid out by businessImplement and provide input into the development of governance and compliance procedures and processes within area of specialization and identify risksMonitor and manage the average repair cost as well as the quality of their own assessment.Moderate assessments completed by the service providersDealing with escalated customer complaints and ad hoc queries.Liaise with service providers, clients and advisors as well as provide technical insight into repairsPlan and organize multiple work outputs by assigning priorities and continuously reviewing objectives and goalUnderstand and appropriately apply procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertiseInvestigate, analyze and develop organizational best practices, ensuring and encouraging adherence to an operational framework of policies and proceduresParticipate in specialist communities of practice and contribute positively to own and organizational knowledge improvementMaintain expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments, industry best practices and provide advice to relevant stakeholdersMaintain up to date knowledge of local and global trendsProvide thought leadership and expertiseYou will be an ideal candidate if you have: Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 plus VDQ (Vehicle Damage Quantifier) QualificationPreferred: Qualified Panel beater, Spray Painter or Motor Mechanic3 to 5 years' experience in a similar environment, of which 1 to 2 years ideally at junior management levelProven experience as a Claims Manager or similar role in the short-term insurance industry, with a focus on motor claims.Deep understanding of motor claims processes, policy terms, and coverage.Solid knowledge of insurance regulations, industry best practices, and compliance requirements.Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate a team.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an attention to detail.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members.Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.Proficient in using claims management software and other related tools.You will have access to: Opportunities to network and collaborate.A challenging working environmentOpportunities to innovate.We can be a match if you are: Adaptable and curiousAnalyse complex data setsThrive in a collaborative environmentApply now if you are interested in taking the next step.
