Company Description We have an exciting opportunity for a Month Planning Engineer. The purpose of this role is to develop a three-month mine plan, in line with the 12-month budget, to be used as the output for the weekly planning horizon.

Job Description As our Month Planning Engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Manage a safe and healthy work environment where workers and contractors can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
Keep environmental impact within statutory requirements to ensure compliance.
Active participation in VFLs, Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.
Meet mining objectives by ensuring all planning systems are current and aligned with the 12-month plan.
Ensure the 3-month mine plan has sufficient detail to construct weekly plans for block preparations, loading, hauling, drilling, and blasting.
Ensure that the monthly plan caters to the blending and ore flow (crushing and stockpiling) of different material types and classes.
Ensure plans are adjusted according to operating conditions, geological deviations, plant needs, etc.
Construct terms of reference to specify inputs into monthly plans – consult with different stakeholders to ensure realistic productivity assumptions.
Identify and recommend opportunities to improve the short-term planning processes to minimize changes and maximize stability.
Create plans following the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Mine's regulations that are within budget and direct mine production activities to achieve short-term targets.
Review the plan design with mine production and ensure that the plan tonnages, quality, rehabilitation, and safety comply with longer-term plans.
Partake in reconciliation processes.
Ensure that infrastructure planning is aligned with shorter-term plans (including positioning roads, electrical and water networks).
Undertake tasks as assigned on implementing the Anglo Operating Model in the Operational Mine Planning.
This role is in Technical & Integrated Planning (T&IP) NC department on a band 6.10 level reporting to the Section Manager Operational Planning.
Qualifications - B Tech Mining Engineering/or Mining Engineering Degree
SA Drivers License
Knowledge
3-5 years of relevant experience in mine planning and/or operations.
Proficiency in Xecute and MicroStation software is advantageous.
Familiarity with other mine planning software, such as Deswik.
Understand relevant safety and mining legislation.
