Mining Activity Engineer UG, D1 Seriti, Khutala Colliery, Mpumalanga Internal & External Ref no: KHT062/24GS Closing date: 21 June 2024 The role: The Mining Activity Engineer reports to the Section Manager Planning.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to: Compiling designs, detailed plans and short-term schedules for major mining activities on the mineCompiling of weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual reconciliations as part of compliance to plan reportingSupply required information for weekly marketing and management plansAssist in compiling weekly review (planning) meetings presentation(s), as well as the monthly planning meetingLiaising with other Activity Engineers with regards to integration of mine plansLiaising with various other departments including, but not limited, Survey, Geology, Environmental, Mining, Metallurgy and EngineeringAssist with annual budget/LOM processRequirements: Qualification: National Diploma/Degree in Mining Engineering with MO Certificate ORRelevant underground mining qualifications (MO Certificate advantageous) WITH recognition and recommendation for prior learning / experienceExperience: Minimum 6 years' experience with either; 2 years appointed as a Shiftboss in a relevant mining production environment OR 2 years relevant experience as Planning OfficerExperience with Mine Planning software including, but not limited to Deswik, XPAC, 3D-dig, Microstation, Talpac, DragsimKnowledge of underground mining activitiesAn appreciation of legislation relating to the mining industry, as well as applicable proceduresAbility to work under pressure and variable workloadBe willing and able to work overtime and over weekends if and when the requirement arisesGood analytical capabilitiesGood communication (verbal and written) skillsA high regard for safetyComputer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)Valid driver's license and own transportIn possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of FitnessAdvantageous: Mine Overseer's Certificate of CompetencyMine Manager's Certificate of CompetencyRecognition and recommendation for prior learning / experiencePlease note: Please use Google Chrome as default browser when applying to enable the attachment of documentsA CV with certified copies (certification within a 3-month period) of relevant qualifications, together with ID document & valid driver's license must be accompanied with your applicationAppointments will be made in line with Employment Equity targetsAll applicants are thanked for their interestApplications which have not been responded to within 30 days of closing date should be regarded as unsuccessfulCommunication will be with shortlisted candidates only
