Location: Johannesburg, GT, ZACompany: AlstomVacancy: Methods Engineer LCCDepartment: Services DepartmentReports to: Manager Industrial EngineeringJob Purpose: Industrialise the maintenance & repairability of products for depots & repair centres, taking into account existing standards & project constraints.Key Responsibilities:Implement the project Make or Buy strategy in all deliverables WITH OEM AND LCC TOOL.Create all tasks in LCC TOOL in line with Make or Buy strategy.Collect LCC from suppliers in line with L4 repair and overhaul activity.Manage LCC IT tool in line with repair activity.Receive latest Providor and prepare the necessary deliverables.Compile Part Breakdown Structure.Contribute to business Make or Buy profitable strategies by developing sound business cases.Calculate Service Exchange and share with key stakeholders.Calculate budget inputs for preventative and corrective maintenance volumes.Generate regular meaningful report on LCC calculation.Contribute to obsolescence decision makings.Liaise WITH OEM on the industrialisation of technical documentation, respecting the standard manufacturing process & standard manufacturing line guidelines.Identify and propose necessary changes to the Control Change Board, where appropriate.Lead analysis and change request on the life cycle cost tool.Build and maintain up to date the industrial ERP data, including the bill of material, the process routings, the configuration management data, and the manufacturing and service execution systems.Ensure S, Q, C, D and Economic Development targets are reached on the attributed work package.Respect the REQUIRED industrial deliverable with respect to the OEM.Consider and implement the return of experience, EHS & Lean Manufacturing standards in all activities.Ensure line saturation & spent time targets of the production & maintenance workstations are achieved.Provide technical support to the workers in the production and maintenance activities.Propose new or improved ways of working that will enable the industrial teams to improve their efficiency and safety.Carry out work in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as laid down by legislation and the Company Health & Safety policies.Lead industrialization of repair quotes & ensure accurate damage reports.Minimum Requirements:Degree/BSc/BTech in industrial engineering.IT literate (Word, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint).Industrial background with 5 years' experience preferably in the railway industry.Technical background with 5 years' experience preferably in the railway industry (Repairs environment), ideally in an international organization.Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings.Technical experience of Methods Engineering, writing and improving manufacturing and/or maintenance work instructions, line balancing, Lean Manufacturing.Experience in working with an ERP (such as SAP) for Bill of Materials, Routings, Configuration follow-up.Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems.Special Requirements: The job involves frequent mobility, with work in several depots.Closing Date: 10 September 2024Should you not hear from us in 30 days, consider your application as unsuccessful.Job Segment: ERP, Database, Technical Support, SAP, Technology
