As a Media Relations and Strategic Communications Specialist, you will be instrumental in crafting and implementing effective communication strategies over a 12-month period.
This role involves promoting our client's standards, enhancing their public image, and supporting stakeholder engagements.
Responsibilities: Strategic Stakeholder Communication: • Develop a media strategy and plan to support strategic stakeholder communication and advocacy aligned with the organization's goals.
• Review and release media statements involving high-profile stakeholders and dignitaries such as CEOs, Ministers, General Secretaries, and Ambassadors.
• Guide the creation of posts that support strategic stakeholder activities.
Issue Management: • Manage potential public relations issues arising from media monitoring reports, customer engagements, or emerging media narratives.
Media Enquiries: • Handle media enquiries through thorough fact-checking and response drafting.
• Review draft responses before they reach the CEO.
• Assess whether media enquiries should be managed under crisis protocols.
Crisis Communication: • Implement strategic crisis communication to protect the oragnisation's reputation.
• Support and guide the CEO as the primary spokesperson during emergencies.
• Provide media training for designated communicators.
Media Monitoring: • Track and measure PEP's presence across various media platforms.
• Analyse mentions, products, services, and brand coverage.
• Identify opportunities for public relations efforts.
Requirements • Qualifications in communications, journalism, or related fields.
• Professional certifications and a proven track record in PR.
• Demonstrated experience through awards, recognitions, and professional achievements.
