A tooling and machinery repair company is seeking a mature, experienced Workshop Technician to take full responsibility for the repairing of welders, power tools, garden machines, and generators.
Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent
Must have comprehensive technical knowledge of repairing power tools, garden machines, and generators
Essential diagnostic and problem-solving skills to find the cause of a fault and patience to trace it
Proficient in Microsoft programs, i.e. Excel, E-mail
Experience in After Sales Service is an advantage
Good communication ability both verbally and in writing (English)
Driver's license and own transport would be an advantage
Fluent in English and Afrikaans
Main duties
Responsible for providing a positive after-sales service experience to all customers.
Accountable for handling customer complaints/queries efficiently, ensuring clear communication, written and verbal, on all Returns/Complaints, to all internal and external customers.
Maintain a Job Card to record any receipt documents for all returns received for repair.
Investigate all return failures and liaise with Management/Customers timeously, irrespective of whether the return is conducted as no charge or charge out.
Administration and control of all documents related to repairs, i.e. Invoicing; GRN and waybills.
Ensure economic feasibility of repair; when such products under warranty are not feasible to repair, consideration must be given to extracting good spare parts prior to scrapping products.
Provide telephonic or on-site technical support on all products, either directly with the customer or when asked to do so by the customer services department.
Adhere to all company rules, regulations, and conditions of work (OHSA/CPA).
Produce technical reports on any product as required by management.
Responsible for control of stock holding of common spare parts.
Support Management in the task of ensuring the most profitable and effective running of the repair process.
Conduct (PDI) pre-delivery inspection on machines.
Housekeeping - Ensure that the workshop is kept clean at all times.
