The maintenance foreman is responsible for all maintenance activities in the various production plants. His responsibilities include scheduling maintenance on the equipment and buildings, monitoring the performance of the staff, and complying with the company's food safety standards. He is also responsible for the setup and monitoring of the milling equipment. His duties will include setup and monitoring of occupational health and safety and maintaining the hygiene standards to ensure the facility complies with the company's food safety standards.The maintenance foreman must demonstrate outstanding problem-solving abilities and be able to resolve any issues that may derail production. Ultimately, the maintenance foreman must have exceptional communication, management, and leadership skills to ensure that the factory operates consistently and efficiently.TYPICAL JOB DUTIESImplementation and maintenance of the preventative maintenance program (planned maintenance) as well as unplanned maintenance.Oversee all third-party maintenance service providers for buildings and equipment.Assist in preparing and managing the maintenance budget.Oversee the critical spares list and audit monthly.Maintain the company vehicles through the use of a third party.Oversee and manage aspects of projects for which Cereal and Malt are responsible.Oversee and implement the health and safety program with the assistance of a third-party consultant.Be an active member of the food safety team and the associated responsibilities therein.Manage and monitor overtime.EDUCATION and EXPERIENCEThe maintenance foreman shall have an education in production or engineering and have completed a management course. Candidates must be qualified electrical vs mechanical; a millwright would be best suited. Must have coal boiler experience. He/she shall be a logical and analytical decision maker. He/she shall be excellent in multi-tasking and need to be in charge of both administrative and managerial aspects of the factory. Ideally, the maintenance foreman should have worked in a food manufacturing environment for at least three years and be familiar with automated process control systems as well as the requirements of a food safety system.
