The Mechanical Foreman will manage the Mechanical Engineering Section and all company resources, so as to ensure the efficient and timeous completion of all allocated work in a safe, professional, and cost effective manner.JOB DESCRIPTIONThe successful applicant will be responsible for the following:Duties and responsibilitiesReceive project plan and requirements, including deadlines from Project Manager.Organise work program with estimators and operations team.Understand subcontracted work and timing requirements according to the project plan.Arrange, assemble and / or delegate teams to carry out work / projects.Ensure that staff discipline is maintained including the management of time and attendance.Take action if deviations from plan occur, during work / job execution.Ensure that all work is performed to customer, Hesper Engineering and industry standards.Report on project progress, during execution, and on close out.Ensure all project costs (e.g. labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor) are recorded.Tools and equipment (including special tools) are available, maintained properly and accounted for, oversee and supervise the maintenance of all mechanically operated machinery in accordance with the company's standards and safety requirements.Ensure that all work is performed and in compliance with Hesper Engineering safety rules and legislative compliance (JSA's).MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSQualifications, experience, and competenciesQualified Tradesman (Fitter and Turner), with at least 8 years experience or equivalent.Minimum Matric or equivalent.At least 3 years Managerial experience in a similar role.Must have thorough knowledge of marine propulsion systems and associated equipment.Ability to work in a highly pressurised environment.Valid driver's licence.Be able to work extended hours as and when required.He / she must be able to operate machinery when required.Applicants who are interested in applying and meet the minimum requirements as per the above, please send your CV to the HR Department on email: ****** .Please state the name of the position and division as a reference on your application.Please note that the position is open to internal and external candidates.Due consideration will be given to the company's employment equity targets, internal recruitment policies and the employment equity plans.
