Mechanical Fitter - Assessor & Moderator

Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching Planning and Preparation
Identify learning outcomes.
Understand teaching and learning guidelines.
Assessment and Moderation
Student Support
Administration
Coordinate the maintenance of training records, ensuring that information is filed.
Ensure that the learning environment complies with all legal requirements.
Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of training.
Assist learners/employees in the class who do not understand.
Prepare and update reports pertaining to training.
Process all documents accurately and timely according to company policies and procedures.
File documents for records to ensure compliance and future retrieval.
Deliver quality training, including learnership, apprentice, trade testing, ARPL, KM & PM trade facilitation, and regulatory requirements to ensure that trainees achieve the required level of competence and understand safe working procedures and regulatory requirements.
Facilitate learners in repairing broken or defective machine parts using welding and brazing tools.
Align equipment using specialized tools.
Review and follow highly technical and complex machinery manuals.
Facilitate learners in disassembling machine parts for transport or repair and reassembling them.

Qualifications

A relevant qualification in Education, Training, or a related field on NQF 5 and higher, with Millwright Trade Test and PLC fault finding skills – Red Seal.
Assessor and Moderator certification for Generic Management Qualification on NQF Level 4.
Basic H&S knowledge and ability to weld: Arc, Tig, etc.

Work Experience

2 to 3 years of experience in facilitating.
Proven experience in facilitating and assessing leadership.
Familiarity with relevant legislative and quality assurance requirements.
