The Role
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical projects within mining operations. You'll work on the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems, ensuring they meet safety, quality, and performance standards. Key Responsibilities
Manage mechanical engineering projects from concept to commissioning within mining operations.
Design, plan, and implement mechanical systems, including material handling, processing, and mining equipment.
Ensure that projects are completed within scope, time, and budget while adhering to industry regulations and safety standards.
Perform technical calculations, equipment specifications, and design reviews to ensure optimal project performance.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
Monitor and assess the performance and reliability of mechanical systems, troubleshooting and providing solutions as needed.
Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Proven experience in mechanical project management within the mining industry.
Strong knowledge of mining processes, equipment, and mechanical systems (e.g., crushers, conveyors, pumps, etc.).
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and engineering analysis tools.
Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards.
Strong project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in fast-paced environments.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities to coordinate with diverse teams.
