Overview: The Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Draughtsman will be responsible for designing and drafting HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems. This role involves collaboration with project engineers, site coordination, and preparing material take-offs and as-built drawings. Experience with Autodesk Revit and site planning is essential.
Responsibilities:

Design and draft various HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Fire Fighting systems.
Preparation of plans, sections, details, and isometric drawings.
Preparation of MEP wall builders work, roof builders work, below rise floor coordination, and sleeve drawings.
Preparation of coordination drawings connecting all MEP works.
Preparation of plant room plans and sections.
Prepare quantity survey and material take-off of the building.
Prepare as-built drawings, coordinating with site installation.
Ensure and maintain quality for finished drawings.
Report to Project Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager and update with the specifications provided in tender drawings.
Maintain and update electronic and manual records of the company.
Review and analyze technical documents and blueprints to ensure accuracy and feasibility of designs.
Assist with site surveys and measurements to gather necessary information for drawings.
Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in technology to enhance design processes and techniques.
Communicate and coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
Attend project meetings and provide technical support and expertise as needed.

Requirements:

Diploma or degree in MEP Drafting.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Draughtsman in the electrical, mechanical, or plumbing field.
Proficient in CAD software and other design tools.
Basic knowledge of different mechanical equipment in terms of function w.r.t HVAC, wet services, lifts, escalators, and fire protection.
Clear understanding of SANS 10400 regulations.
Site coordination/planning experience required.
Autodesk Revit modeling experience required.

Skills:

Solid understanding of industry standards and regulations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and precise drawings.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
