Job Responsibilities:Effectively order raw materials from suppliers for production in line with the meat plant operations manager.Oversee day-to-day operations of harvesting, deboning, trimming, and packaging meat products.Ensure production goals are met by overseeing staff.Assist in developing systems to ensure quality while improving factory efficiency.Demonstrate strong leadership with a high ability to train and develop people.Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures throughout all operational activities to support and improve quality, growth, and profitability.Provide leadership on health and safety strategy and ensure compliance with health and safety protocols.Essential Duties:Monitor all parts of production (harvesting, boning, and packaging) by evaluating the product and administering corrective actions as noted in policies and procedures.Train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.Maintain food and work safety regulations as required by law and company policy.Manage the scheduling of production, set work schedules, and departmental goals/expectations.Control waste by minimizing products sent to inedible and providing a sanitary working environment.Manage departmental procurement of supplies and equipment.Provide technical expertise to resolve production issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.Develop, analyze, and present reports, including forecasts, productivity, and safety.Communicate with personnel throughout shifts to maintain a united working environment.Coordinate all employee safety programs, including reviewing short- and long-term strategic safety planning and development.Maintain positive working relationships with peers and support staff.Perform various other responsibilities as needed and determined by the Company Director.Preferred Qualifications/Skills:Knowledge of meat processing and job specifications.Ability to build a team and promote a positive culture throughout the facility.Matric or relevant Certificate/Diploma in a related field or minimum 3-5 years of food production management experience.Ability to maintain confidential information.Ability to make strategic, analytical decisions that positively impact the business.Three years of supervisory experience.Project controls and tracking experience.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Safety and quality management experience.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, business partners, supervisors, and employees.Ability to delegate work and ensure it is carried out within the prescribed timeframe.Additional Requirements:Valid Driver's License Essential.Only applicants with experience and contactable references will be considered.Job Type: Full-time
