Oliver Wyman is now looking to recruit a Marketing & Communications Lead for our South Africa practice!Job Overview: To support our exciting growth trajectory, we are seeking an experienced, creative and results-driven Marketing Manager to join our team as the Country Marketing Lead for South Africa. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving our marketing efforts, establishing our brand presence, and supporting our expanding ambitions in the South African market. Candidates with professional services expertise is essential, ideally in management consulting, who can leverage their industry knowledge to effectively enhance our positioning our organization in the South African market.The first role of its kind in our South Africa practice, this position will suit an entrepreneurial self-starter keen to pioneer programs in South Africa, while playing an active role in the wider Marketing community.As Oliver Wyman South Africa's Lead for Marketing and Communications, you will work closely with the IMEA Marketing Head, the Partner group in South Africa, and global Marketing peers. You will lead the local market's marketing strategy, and implement high impact marketing programs that raise brand awareness and help build relationships with clients and influencers through the variety of tactics.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with IMEA Head of Marketing and South Africa's business leadership to develop integrated growth strategies for existing and new sectors, for the local market.Lead South Africa-focused marketing campaigns across multiple channels (website, social media, press releases, email newsletters, videos, events) to increase brand visibility and generate interest.Working with our IMEA campaigns coordinator, conduct detailed reporting and analysis of campaign impact in South Africa to drive informed decision-making; Measure and analyze marketing effectiveness using CRM and other tools, optimizing campaigns continuously.Together with IMEA Head of PR, manage relationship with local PR agency, expand the firm's presence in tier 1 media, also leveraging your own relationships to build connections with key editors and journalists.Create South Africa-specific content and adapt global marketing materials for local relevance, emphasizing culturally resonant storytelling and effective distribution.Represent Oliver Wyman South Africa in global Marketing team forums, identifying synergies between global and local campaigns.Collaborate with our think tank, the Oliver Wyman Forum, and Marsh McLennan (MMC) to strategize content delivery for relevant report launches.Cultivate strategic partnerships with organizations, associations, and influencers as relevant.Develop tailored account-based marketing (ABM) strategies in collaboration with local Partner leadership.Enhance employer brand through local activations, supporting Recruitment team efforts.Maintain a keen interest in industry trends, competitive intelligence, and regulatory changes, providing actionable insights that keep up with best practice.Identify and negotiate speaking opportunities for firm leaders at influential conferences and events in South Africa.Oversee local marketing operations and manage relationships with agencies and vendors to expand South Africa marketing support functions.Foster strong relationships internally and externally to drive collaboration and business development.Experience Required:8+ years proven track record and experience in a B2B marketing/communication function in professional services or agency.Expertise in crafting and editing engaging content across multiple formats (media, social media, web, reports, etc.), and familiarity in using keyword research and SEO.Client-centric/Account Based Marketing experience with a strategic eye on linking Marketing impact with Commercial Objectives.Strong media relationships in South Africa an advantage, or experience in managing a PR agency.Team management and working with an international peer group.Familiarity with project management tools such as Monday.com or Asana.Skills and Attributes:Strong competency in strategy and aligning key stakeholders.Ability to plan and execute marketing priorities.Strong command of business English, with honed writing and editing skills; executive presence.Outstanding interpersonal skills for a regional and international work environment.Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.Agile work attitude, hard-working, and results driven.Willingness to travel locally and internationally, on occasion.If you are a dynamic, creative and strategic marketing professional with a passion for driving growth and have a proven track record in professional services, we invite you to join our team as the Country Marketing Lead for South Africa.
