Job Purpose
The position is hands-on and supports all components of marketing and public relations and external corporate communication activities, digital marketing, content creation, events, and branding, and assists in the day-to-day operations of Edge Group Marketing.
Reports to: Head of Marketing
Qualifications:
Preferably a tertiary qualification in communication (i.e. BA/BCOM: Communication) or a related diploma or recognized equivalent backed by relevant experience.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in marketing, communications, PR, and media relations in a B2B environment.
Phenomenal written and verbal communication skills.
Event management experience.
Solid knowledge of SA media and marketing channels, especially digital (social media, websites, etc).
Experience in assisting with building a strategic and creative content strategy plus implementation plan.
Brand building experience.
Project management experience.
Some agency background highly beneficial.
Core Activities:
External Communication Management
Conceptualise and implement external communications strategy in conjunction with Marketing strategy.
Develop and implement media strategy.
Develop content to share on all external channels for digital and traditional media.
Conceptualise and implement an external client newsletter.
Develop and manage case study write-ups.
Liaise with media and handle requests for interviews, statements, etc.
Manage creative approach and content for advertising as part of media strategy.
Distribute press releases to media.
Assist head of marketing with advertising plans and leveraging partnerships for positive media coverage of brand.
Event Management
Organise client-related events to increase product & brand awareness, build relationships, and generate new leads.
Assist with identifying, coordinating, and organizing promotional events such as press conferences, interviews, exhibitions, public meetings/appearances, tours, and visits.
Maintain marketing department calendar of projects and events.
Handle incoming requests for advertising, conferences, and sponsorships.
Reporting
Report on all Edge marketing-related activities, assisting HOM to build reports on marketing ROI for EXCO reporting.
Support Head of Marketing with various marketing responsibilities
Assist in implementing communication strategies, programmes, plans, and campaigns.
Assist with implementing social media and digital campaigns.
Assist with management of company website.
Proofread, edit, and revise communications.
Assist with company collateral and other forms of communication.
Assist in managing creative and digital agency relationships.
Public Relations Management.
Internal Brand Management
Assist with internal brand management and requests to ensure consistent brand integrity and compliance with CI.
