The role is responsible to identify, develop and manage projects to increase stainless steel consumption in South Africa and globally. In addition the role must identify alternative competing products that can be replaced with stainless steel. Co-ordinate product developments in the plant and ensure alignment with customer or product requirements.

Market Growth and Projects
Identify new opportunities that will result in increased stainless steel usage and increased sales
Promote the use of Stainless Steel and its capabilities at exhibitions, expos, marketing media and publications
Identify strategic publications to partner with for advertising purposes
Prepare articles and adverts for the different publications
Ensure that there is sufficient relevant educational information on stainless steel
Market Intelligence
Conduct research, obtain and keep marketing information on existing and new applications and developments in the Stainless Steel industry.
Maintain an applications data base for marketing purposes
Liaise within the company group for learning and information sharing
Write and submit reports to relevant stakeholders
Liaison/Coordinate
Liaise interdepartmentally on project related orders and for product development
Ensure accuracy of all information on order loading
Work closely with PR department for PR related projects
Keep track of all new product and project related orders in the plant and closely monitor all projects to completion
Liaise with relevant local and international associations
Liaise with relevant industry players on existing and potential projects
Minimum Qualifications
National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) with Math and Science.
Diploma/degree in a Technical field/ Commercial/ Marketing.
Favorable Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Engineering (metallurgy, mechanical, industrial, chemical or commercial (B.Com, business management) is required.
MDP/EDP recommended.
Technical experience is recommended.
Years of Service
The incumbent should have 6 years' experience of the business, the product and commercial processes.
The incumbent should ensure excellent customer/supplier relations through good communication skills and experience with the markets.
Incumbent must be able to negotiate and recommend accurately.
Incumbent must understand the process and product grades.
Technical report writing will be an advantage
Incumbent must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally as required
