The job responsibilities:Responsible to plan, schedule and monitor the daily and ongoing screening media manufacturing.To plan and request raw material requirements in line with production orders.To create Bill of Material on ERP system in line with drawing requirements.Drive improvement on manufacturing processes, efficiencies and quality of screening media and related components.Ensure that all materials are available for jobs currently on the floor and plan material for new jobs.Responsible to ensure supervisors perform quality checks on screening media products and other related parts.Provide clear instructions to supervisors towards deadline dates and allowable hours necessary to meet completion deadlines.To make management decisions affecting work output.To ensure best maintenance practices are followed on screening media equipment and machinery and ensure equipment is in good working order and safe to use.To coach and guide supervisors on job procedures.Communicate effectively with the shift supervisors.To ensure employees are motivated and working efficiently.Maintain discipline in the working area to avoid non-professional activities in and around the workplace.To provide a positive "can do" approach to management, whilst leading the teams by example.Ensure that all housekeeping is up to standard and free of hazards.Ensure all staff abide by H&S requirements including the use of appropriate PPE where and when required.Ensuring workers follow safe work practices.Enforcing health and safety regulations.Correcting unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.Conduct continuous risk assessments to ensure a safe workshop environment.Ensuring that only authorized, adequately trained operators operate the equipment.Responsible to operate within the health and safety requirements as prescribed by the Company and OHS Act.Qualifications & Experience RequirementsGrade 12 certificate or N3 Mechanical.Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering Diploma.Management or other relevant Training/courses.Minimum 3 to 5 years of Managerial experience in a similar field.Substantial experience within injection moulding and polyurethane moulding industry.Other Requirements & CompetenciesBasic understanding of screening media products.Must be flexible and self-reliant.Sound judgement.Problem-solving ability.Understanding the importance of time management.Listening and logic interpretation.Follow-through ability to complete tasks.Ability to work under pressure.Accuracy.Strong technical understanding of how injection and casted parts are manufactured.Awareness of health and safety requirements.Ability to work independently and in a team.Good eye/hand coordination.This role is based in Spartan, Kempton Park.What is in it for you?We offer you an interesting role in an international business environment, extraordinary products, great colleagues, and opportunities for your professional development.
