We are seeking an ambitious candidate to join our Johannesburg office as a client facing manager. You will be involved in a wide range of interesting and challenging deals, . This is a unique opportunity to develop your skills in turnaround restructuring and related services through working with an experienced senior team of turnaround and restructuring professionals and through exposure to working with lenders, investors, companies, and their advisors in distressed and urgent situations.
The Kroll Restructuring practice provides effective and efficient solutions to its clients. Our clients include major banks, asset-backed lenders, private equity houses, financial sponsors, lenders, creditors, corporates, and individuals. We provide financial and operational turnaround and restructuring advisory services in a distressed environment within and outside of Chapter 6 Business Rescue of the Companies Act which includes formal business rescue appointments, business rescue advisory, working capital optimisation, chief restructuring officer appointments, estimated financial outcome calculations and other distressed advisory services (such as independent business reviews, cash flow modelling).
RESPONSIBILITIES: Team member on high-profile financial and operational restructuring assignments, These assignments will include a broad range of restructuring services across the varying stages of distress where your work is led by our senior team; Execution will include, inter alia: Detailed financial analysis and an assessment of the root causes of financial distress (often alongside commercial analysis) Evaluation of financial forecast models, including and assessment and interrogation of key assumptions; Evaluation and management of short-term cash flow and cash availability (including 13week short term cash flow modelling); Evaluation of operations and identification of operational metrics; Identification of realistic solutions and ability to stress test and simplistically model potential solutions; Relevant data analytics and financial analysis to support the above evaluation; Relevant market research and analysis to support the above evaluation; Stakeholder management – internal and client stakeholders; Project management – managing various tasks and project work streams that contribute to the overall engagement; Creating deliverables that are client-ready and insightful and present such deliverables to stakeholders; Review legal agreements (at a high level) to identify practical solutions to ensure that there are adequate protections in place; Day-to-day execution and contribution to engagements such as financial and operational restructuring, restructuring procedures, distressed valuations, distressed corporate advisory and business rescues, as well as similar engagements; Where relevant to the engagement, lead specific work streams (supported by senior team member); Drafting MS PowerPoint or other reports and documents for clients; Managing, mentoring, and coaching junior members of staff; Contributing to development of best practice; and Actively pursuing business development opportunities by leveraging own network. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field; A minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience, including insolvency, restructuring and advisory; Ability to practically apply knowledge to identify issues and solve complex problems; Strong financial, business analytical and report writing skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Strong personal management and prior experience working in dynamic teams; Strong stakeholder management capabilities; Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and scope requirements; Excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
