Purpose of the Job: Responsible for overseeing the design, development, integration, and management of the Academys software systems.
This includes strong expertise in front-end and back-end software development, database design, and API integrations.
Additionally, the role involves creating advanced data intelligence systems and AI-driven tools to support curriculum development, decision-making, and operational excellence.
The manager will develop a comprehensive relational database for water infrastructure across South Africa to enhance decision-making and management insights.
The role involves managing teams and infrastructure that support educational programs, technology systems, quality assurance, and innovation in water, wastewater, and energy learning.
The Manager will drive the integration of EdTech innovations to facilitate modern, flexible learning solutions that meet the academys strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of the position are Software Systems Development * System Integration and APIs * Comprehensive Relational Database Development * Instructional Design and UX Innovation * Software System Management, Cloud and Infrastructure Management * Project Management and Development * General Management.
Minimum Requirements: Matric with NQF Level 7 in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field * Postgraduate certification in Big Data Analytics or AI/ML Applications is advantageous.
Minimum Experience: At least 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, and data engineering * Proven expertise in developing large-scale relational databases, using AI/ML for predictive analytics, and managing educational technology platforms * Strong background in data science/engineering, and decision-making tools * Proven experience in development of data management strategy.
