Job Purpose
The incumbent is required to provide operational support to Campus Protection Services, which deals directly with matters pertaining to managing and conducting the investigation of crime, incidents, and misconduct committed on the University's property by ensuring that all infringements that involve members of the public, staff, and students are fully investigated. This includes the prevention, detection, investigation, and resolution of all student and staff cases related to any form of crime and any other special projects. To manage and lead a team of investigators and specialist investigators to deliver investigation services to the university community.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
National Diploma in Forensics Investigation, Criminal Justice, Law, or a related field.Grade A PSIRA registration or registerable with PSIRA within 3 months of assumption of duty.5 years in leading and managing investigations and 2 years in an investigation of crime (7 years)Valid driver's License and be able to driveExperience in handling and managing complex investigation projects.No criminal record and be willing to be subjected to security screening and vettingRecommendation: Postgraduate Qualification in Forensic Investigation, or LLB Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities Management of Investigative Operational PlanImplement execution of investigation plansCaseload management and crime statistics of reported casesReportingBudget and resource managementHuman Resource ManagementPlanning and organizing skillsAbility to lead and manage investigationControl and monitorAbility to work in a changing environmentKnowledge of Criminal Procedure and Law of Evidence Act 51 of 1977Digital forensic and investigationData analytics University disciplinary Criminal prosecutionUse of investigation technology tools General Information Closing Date: 01 September 2024
