Job SpecLeadershipManage team to meet department performance targets.Oversee underwriting and acquisitions for loan origination.Collaborate with operations, legal, marketing, and finance teams.Operations ManagementDesign, implement, and improve back-office systems for underwriting, loan administration, and collections.Manage operational activities and customer relationships, including credit analysis and collections.Set up new business processes and IT systems.Ensure compliance with legal and internal policies during loan origination.Improve process performance and manage operational costs.Present status updates and improvement plans to Senior Manager.Ensure services align with TCF regulations.Credit ControlDevelop and implement credit operational processes and policies.Monitor loan performance and generate reports.Take proactive measures to mitigate losses.Recommend loan recovery strategies and ensure portfolio diversification.Leverage technology and data analytics for credit assessments.Manage credit modelling and portfolio monitoring.Risk ManagementDevelop risk management strategies and credit risk policies.Promote risk awareness and compliance.Manage third-party relationships, including Credit Bureaus and auditors.Compliance, Corporate Governance, and ControlApply corporate governance and ensure compliance with credit policies.Provide information for audits and implement agreed actions.People ManagementSet goals and appraise team heads.Lead by example, track performance metrics, and take corrective actions.Coach and mentor staff, identify training needs, and recommend training.Develop and mentor a high-performing credit team.ReportsPrepare regular reports on credit risk performance for senior management and regulatory bodies.Qualification Requirements For This Position Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field; master's degree preferred.Experience And Knowledge Required For The Position Minimum of 5 to 8 years' experience in consumer or commercial lending either as a business / systems / process analyst or credit / risk / collections manager of which a minimum of 3 years includes management experience. Strong understanding of credit risk principles with a substantive focus on originations, collections, and business integration/strategy. Keeps abreast of best practice methods and trends. Ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team. Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels. Ability to focus on driving performance, innovation, and continuous improvement in credit risk management practices.
