Your opportunity:
Reporting directly to the Director, Business Development, with a dotted line of responsibility to the Executive Director, Strategic Communications the Manager, Communications & Marketing serves as a source of creative marketing ideas and promotional approaches for a number of specialized and evolving initiatives to ensure revenue targets are being met. The Manager writes and oversees the development, production, delivery and accuracy of all communications pieces and ensure they adhere to the larger departmental marketing objectives and brand standards. The responsibilities of this position includes, but are not limited to: writing content in a variety of media, including website content, program descriptions, social media content, news releases, e-newsletters and targeted messaging to both internal and external stakeholders; managing marketing and communication project logistics and budgets; overseeing start-to-finish production of a variety of printed and digital materials; and evaluating the effectiveness of the marketing vehicles used by Executive Programs.
Your responsibilities will include: Developing and implementing marketing plans to support business development and revenue-generating strategies and/or activitiesDeveloping a comprehensive and integrated marketing strategyAdvising on marketing best practices and brand-building opportunitiesAdvising on communication mediums to maximize marketing for targeted audiencesAdvising on long-term market growth and outreach strategiesConducting detailed data analysis to inform management decisionsAnalyzing market data to determine trends and effectiveness of programs and initiativesProvide backup support for the Learning Advisor by managing the inbox for Executive Program inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responsesCoordinate all aspects of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, ensuring submissions align with the Rotman brand and meet deadlines.Provide ad hoc support to the Business Development team by assisting with various tasks and projects to ensure the team's success.Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.A minimum of 5 years' experience in communications/marketingMust have experience writing on complex business topics to a broad audience.Editorial production experience required.Must possess excellent copywriting and editing skills; and the ability to edit and proofread.Experience with online marketing and major social media platforms is also required.Understanding of issues in management education for working professionals, executives and continuing professional development in a university/business school environment is an asset.Must have experience developing, implementing, and evaluating marketing/digital communication campaigns, marketing research projects, brand development initiatives and overseeing the creation, development and management of digital and web-based marketing, communication and CRM tools.Working experience with WordPress, Adobe InDesign and other digital publishing programs.Knowledge of mechanics of digital publishing and management (e.g. search engine optimization)Experience with web publishing, HTML and content management platforms is required.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others and manage in a team environment. Ability to resolve conflict and juggle competing demands successfully.Superior oral and written communication skills.Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/tasks with ease.Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of various campaigns, in coordination with third party agencies, is important.Knowledge of the latest electronic marketing tools and approaches such as web practices and learning portals is an important skill set.Superior reading comprehension skills; ability to distill sophisticated faculty research into content marketing for executive programs.Excellent copywriting and editing skills, including exceptional skills in English grammar and spelling; and the ability to edit and proofread.
