What We Are Looking ForPURPOSE OF THE JOB:Co-ordinate all maintenance activities for the Mechanical Workshop, manage all personnel reporting to him/her, and ensure compliance to all standards and procedures.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:Ensure plant availability and make sure all mechanical maintenance spares are available within a reasonable time frame.Support plant management with mechanical problem solving.Do the necessary risk assessments of all the mechanical maintenance tasks at hand.Manage the budget effectively and in a cost saving manner.Manage the day-to-day administrative activities for the employees reporting to the position.Supervise the day-to-day activities of employees by inspecting and on the job supervision.Do visual inspections of work to be done and on the job risk assessment.Co-ordinate and monitor schedules with plant managers.Implement and monitor OEE's for bottlenecks, plant and equipment to ensure optimum performance and efficiencies.Develop and implement strategic plan (1-3 years) to address upgrading of plants/processes (modifications, new technology/equipment).Co-ordinate and initiate technical investigations into problem areas regarding maintenance.What Qualifications You Should HaveMinimum Requirements:N3 qualification and Trade Test in Mechanical Engineering.National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous.At least 10-15 years' experience in a manufacturing engineering industry of which 5 years should have been in a supervisory level in a maintenance environment.Must be able to analyse and interpret problems on different types of highly complicated machines, equipment and processes of different types and make decisions to solve the problems on his own.Must be able to make quick decisions and judgements within general company policies with little technical guidance.Manage human resources and labour relations within own department to create good relations and climate to work in.Develop and motivate employees to change behaviour to accomplish business plan.Ability to lead people.Communicate to all level of personnel and people from outside (suppliers).Ability for change, efficiency and effectiveness orientated, results orientated, listening and questioning, influencing, decisiveness and good leadership qualities.Good administration skills.Computer Literate.Good communication, planning and organizing skills.Highly organized and self-motivated.Financial Management.What We Offer YouCompetitive compensation package with incentive bonus and pension fund.Medical Schemes.Stable employer background.Opportunity to work on major projects within our Weapons and Ammunition Division.Extensive Employee Assistance program to support overall health and wellbeing.Career development and progress opportunities.Individual and diverse training opportunities and programs (Bursary Schemes).Subsidized canteen on site with themed days and multiple dietary options.Innovative and dynamic working environment and culture.Work as part of team with real purpose in what we do.Participation in (international) Rheinmetall activities and events.CONTACT INFORMATIONJose Pedro 021 864 7006
