What Will Be Your Environment: The Durban site is located on the south side of Durban in Prospecton, Kwa-Zulu-Natal, South Africa.
What You'll Do: As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team (3 employees and a few contractors) and ensure efficient operation. You will upkeep equipment and facilities, including utilities. You will lead the effective execution of all plant maintenance and assigned projects, in support of safety, quality, reliability, and continuous improvement. You will be expected to respect and enforce the site's HSE and ethics rules. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.
What We're Looking For: ANALYSIS AND IMPLEMENTATION
Participate and lead daily maintenance planning meetings to take charge of the activity for which he or she is responsible.Ensure the proper coordination of maintenance interventions carried out by the maintenance team and contractors.Analyze equipment failures on intervention reports to initiate the implementation of corrective solutions towards improved maintenance.Ensure all maintenance and production activities are carried out accordingly.Supervise maintenance technicians and work performed by contractors.Responsible for safety, quality of work, and productivity of maintenance while coordinating with the production department.Balance priorities, manpower, material, and equipment availability to develop department and individual work schedules.Manage and perform repairs, alterations, and general maintenance of the plant to improve productivity of the operation.Guarantee the completion of the work in compliance with the Lubrizol HSE standard.Utilize SAP to develop a maintenance plan and review available planned job packages for completeness and correctness.Lead and execute the mechanical integrity program for the site.Maintain an adequate inventory of all critical parts to prevent unnecessary plant shutdowns, submitting purchase requests for tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.Support efforts for the capital projects within the plant. Assisting in the planning, scheduling, and implementation, as well as providing budgetary information as required.Participate and Lead in maintenance efforts to review new equipment design, layout, and safety-related aspects.Perform urgent repairs during off-hours when critical and necessary.CONTROL
Create and update metrics related to your maintenance activities.Ensure the availability of equipment.Ensure that the service providers execute operations in accordance with the schedule.Control the completion in progress and at the end of the project.Ensure that technical records are kept up to date.Ensure that workshops and sites are kept clean and tidy.REPORTING/ COMMUNICATION / SUPERVISION
Validate service quotes after control and within the limit defined by the Manager.Report timely any key maintenance information to the plant Manager.Participate in 'quality' and 'safety' audits.Participate in the testing of new equipment.Bringing your 'business' expertise to the speakers.Participate in the improvement of assets when dysfunctions are observed.Share good results with providers by encouraging good practices.Report to your line manager on the technical difficulties encountered.Participate in fault analyses.Inform and train stakeholders or operators in the new techniques used.Evaluate the quality of the contracted service and advise management.Prepare and participate in the various work planning meetings. HSESEnsure the effective implementation of the prevention maintenance include critical equipment for the site.Take appropriate HSE measures for the workflow.Stop or have stopped any intervention that does not comply with the Health, Safety, and Environment procedures in force in the company.Carry out site inspections and safety observations.Prepare and participate in the various work planning meetings.Skills That Make a Difference: Matric or Matric equivalentEngineering National diploma or trade certification or equivalent preferred.Minimum of 3 years working in a manufacturing plant.Advanced level of mechanical aptitude and able to read drawings/sketches, technical manuals, floor plans, and blueprints.Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, steam troubleshooting practices.Hydraulic, pneumatic troubleshooting and piping and pump experience.Perks and Rewards That Inspire: Lubrizol offers enticing perks and rewards, such as a competitive compensation package, comprehensive benefits, and many more.
