An exciting opportunity exists at Nampak Metals-Springs for a Maintenance Planner. This position reports to the Technical Manager and is graded at Peromnes 09.The main focus of the maintenance planner is to improve the productivity of the maintenance staff and reduce the equipment downtime required for doing maintenance. This is done through effective planning and scheduling practices which will ensure that all the resources for a job are all arranged and prepared in advance and that maintenance "windows" are agreed with Production in advanceKey Responsibilities:Creating a list of validated, coded and prioritised works ordersPlan and execute outages Scope and plan large maintenance work including resources required for the work and HSSE precautions and permitsConfirm and secure resources for the work pertaining to materials, specialized equipment and contractors required.Schedule weekly maintenance work according to available capacity and production planUpdate Master Data in the EAMS to ensure up to date asset register, updated BOMS and maintenance tasksCreate Ad Hoc Reports for managers to support decision-making and ensure compliance to audit requirementsEnsure effective and efficient shutdown scope of work planning including resources required and list of improvement actionsEnsure effective implementation of CAN DO! Excellence practice and Asset Management practices.Manage Contractors work on siteTo excel in this role, the ideal candidate should posses:National Diploma (Mechanical Engineering) B-Tech or BSC Engineering will be an added advantageHave 3-5 years experience as a maintenance planner in a high-speed component manufacturing environmentMust have effectively utilised Project/Shutdown management principles and best practicesMust be able to use project management software to plan a project (with critical path)Must have extensively computer literate and be able to use EAMS reporting and BI tools and be able to analyse data in ExcelHave excellent planning and organising skills.Have good communication and people skills and be a team player.Be willing / able to work closely with the manufacturing team.Ability to work under pressure and work overtime when required.
