Maintenance Manager for our new Recycling Plant in Ballito (M/F/D) What you will enjoy doingWe are at the beginning of our recycling journey in Africa and are looking for a Maintenance Manager to be part of our growing team at our new plant in Ballito. As Maintenance Manager you will develop our maintenance structures and processes to start-up our recycling facility and ensure high machine availability for all infrastructure and recycling production equipment and continuous improvement of the right balance between high machine availability and controlled maintenance costs. You ensure that all maintenance is performed under safe working conditions and are also the GMR 2.1 for the plant that has a total energy consumption of more than 3000 kW (approx. 2.5 MW electrical and 800 kW heat on a continuous base).
Support the APE (ALPLA plant engineer) for the installation of the infrastructure equipment, by being on site to guide and supervise the companies installing the equipment.Lead maintenance team that consists of mechanical and electrical staff working mainly in 4 shifts and partially in day shift including maintenance store management.Ensure that critical infrastructure on which the whole plant depends on such as generators, compressors, chillers, coolers, and the wastewater treatment have an OEE close to 100%.Oversee daily routine maintenance, break down repairs and preventative maintenance with the aim to ensure that the production team is able timely delivery and efficient operation.Cooperate with the Production department to align for maintenance versus production time of equipment ensure quality compliant production.What makes you greatFormal qualification as mechanical or electrical engineer.Having the qualification for being appointed as a GMR 2.1 for the plant with more than 3000 kW energy consumption.Minimum of 10 years' experience in an international manufacturing company, preferably in plastic recycling, plastic industry or food packaging or comparable industry with conveyors, extruder, and similar equipment in production.Ideally, experience in new plant set-up, growth, and expansion of a newly created operation / plant.Proven track of leadership experience and ability to train and develop the production team.Deep understanding of production performance metrics, 5S and Health & Safety practices.Professionalism and dedication to excellence in customer care.Ability to work independently to tight deadlines and proactive in solving problems.Willingness to work in a challenging environment.Proficiency in English and Zulu language as well as strong interpersonal skills.What you can expect working with usYou report directly to the Operations Manager of our Ballito plant.We have flat hierarchies, short decision-making processes, open interactions with each other and a constructive team atmosphere.We offer an exciting and varied professional environment in a modern, global family business with a wide range of opportunities.We enable you to take on interesting and varied tasks with a high level of personal responsibility.
