Role Overview: We're seeking a proactive and self-motivated Maintenance Assistant (Handy Person) to ensure our hotel maintains the highest standards of quality and functionality. You'll play a crucial role in keeping our facilities in top shape, handling maintenance requests, and ensuring our guests enjoy a flawless stay.
Responsibilities: Timely Repairs: Address and resolve all guest maintenance requests promptly to maintain guest satisfaction. Handyman Duties: Perform general repairs, patching, and painting to keep rooms and common areas in excellent condition. Coordination: Organize and oversee the work of external trades and suppliers to ensure all maintenance work is completed efficiently. Preventative Maintenance: Lead the implementation and execution of a detailed preventative maintenance management (PMM) schedule. Stock Management: Purchase and manage maintenance supplies, ensuring stock levels are adequate and storerooms are well-organized. What We're Looking For: Experience: Previous experience in a handyperson role is preferred; hotel experience is a plus. Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a vibrant team, while also being capable of working independently. Maintenance Skills: Strong knowledge of in-room maintenance with the ability to quickly address issues and return rooms to guest-ready status. Communication: Excellent communication skills to liaise with hotel departments and guests professionally. Time Management: Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently. Safety: Understanding of Safe Work Practices and WH&S regulations. Qualifications: A trade qualification is preferred but not mandatory. You must meet legal requirements to work in New Zealand and have full Covid-19 vaccination status.
