Hire Resolve is currently seeking a Logistics Manager specializing in the packaging industry. This position is based in Western Cape and offers an exciting opportunity to lead logistics operations in a thriving sector.
Responsibilities:
Manage the entire distribution function for finished goods and pallets.
Oversee the pallet repairs contractor.
Manage transport suppliers' contracts.
Ensure optimal utilization of the available fleet.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time, in-full delivery.
Focus on client satisfaction
Manage finished goods stock with optimal warehouse space utilization.
Oversee and process stock takes.
Investigate stock take discrepancies.
Monitor and report on stock aging.
Ensure stock storage adheres to safety regulations.
Provide fast and efficient service to clients to support internal processes and working capital strategy.
Effectively manage the Warehouse Management System and Syspro System as a Super User.
Update and maintain the inventory management system.
Compile monthly inventory reports.
Liaise with systems providers to resolve system-related issues.
Manage forklift contracts, including renewals and negotiations.
Oversee the forklift fleet and ensure proper maintenance.
Ensure all forklifts are in safe, working condition.
Audit forklift check books to ensure completion by personnel on each shift.
Liaise with forklift suppliers for maintenance call-outs and issues.
Exhibit strong leadership qualities.
Lead, control, and manage the performance of subordinates.
Address day-to-day issues effectively.
Manage training and development of subordinates for optimal performance and succession planning.
Ensure effective service to customers while fostering a positive work attitude among team members.
Requirements:
Qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain.
Relevant experience in Warehousing, Logistics, or Distribution.
5 years of people management experience.
3 years of relevant ERP experience.
3 years of relevant finance/accounting background.
Valid driver's license.
Service-oriented mindset.
Excellent problem-solving skills (analytical and creative thinking).
High self-motivation and sense of responsibility.
Strong leadership and people management skills, collaborating with teams to achieve maximum efficiency and organizational goals.
Deadline-driven.
Assertive in approach.
Computer literate.
Excellent conflict resolution skills.
Reliable with strong work ethics, executing tasks with attention to detail
