Company description: A well-established International Trading Company operating in the Energy sector and supplying equipment to Contractors and Power Utilities in Africa. The company has offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Africa and is currently establishing a manufacturing plant in Zambia. This role is for the South African office based in Fourways, Johannesburg. Location: Full-time, In-office, Fourways Salary: R20-R30K AA/EE requirements: None Commencement Date: Jan 2025 Our client is looking for someone with extensive experience in sea and road transport. Complex logistical problem-solving experience and deep understanding of import-export documentation is essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for co-ordinating the movement of Power Transmission and Distribution Equipment such as cable drums, power line fittings, wooden poles, etc. The candidate will be in charge of receiving containers (inbound cargo from China and India) and coordinating in-transit clearance and road transport to its final destinations in sub-Saharan Africa. The company owns its own fleet of trucks. Non-Negotiable requirements: Candidates MUST come from a Freight Forwarding company, logistics company or a transporter which transports commodities or products cross-border into Africa. Min 3 Years' experience moving goods cross border via ROAD, AIR and SEA into Africa is essential (current main markets are Angola, Zambia, Mozambique and Rwanda). Relevant diploma in logistics MIN. Degree is preferential. Understanding of road freight management (Truck configurations, truck types) as well as monitoring systems and coordination with the drivers. Understanding of sea freight, airfreight and railway and related documentation. Coordinating with suppliers to ensure cargo is collected as soon as it is ready. Generating and preparing import and export documentation. Proven problem-solving experience and skills. Essential Experience required for consideration End-to-end logistical arrangements of containerized and breakbulk cargo. Experience and knowledge of cross border movement (Export and Import), customs and excise processes, along with export documentation (Certificates of Origin; SADC certificate; SAD 500; Import permits etc) is essential.
