Manager and Guide - 5* Lodge - Mpumalanga We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager and Guide to join our client's team. As the Manager and Guide, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the lodge while also providing exceptional guiding services to our discerning guests. This is a single live-in position offering a unique opportunity to live and work in one of Africa's most stunning wilderness areas.
DescriptionOversee the day-to-day operations of the lodge, including guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, and administration.Provide exceptional guest experiences by delivering high-quality guiding services during game drives, bush walks, and other activities.Ensure the safety and wellbeing of guests at all times during activities and while on the lodge premises.Manage lodge staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluation, to maintain high standards of service and professionalism.Maintain lodge facilities and equipment to ensure they are in optimal condition.Manage lodge inventory, supplies, and budgets effectively.Uphold conservation principles and responsible tourism practices throughout all lodge operations.Act as a brand ambassador for the lodge, fostering positive relationships with guests, staff, and external stakeholders.Previous experience in a similar managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably within a luxury lodge environment.Professional guiding qualifications (FGASA Level 1 or higher, First Aid certification, and relevant firearm handling proficiency).Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.Proven organizational and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.A deep appreciation for wildlife, conservation, and the African bush.Must be willing to live on-site at the lodge.Valid driver's license and clean driving record
