Key responsibilities:Oversee all aspects of the companys litigation and dispute resolution processesManage a portfolio of active litigation cases, including civil, criminal, and regulatory mattersDevelop and implement litigation strategies to achieve favorable outcomesCoordinate with internal departments to gather necessary information and evidence for legal casesWork closely with external legal counsel, ensuring their actions align with company objectives and strategiesAdvise senior management on potential legal risks and litigation strategiesDevelop and recommend proactive legal strategies to minimize risks and protect company interestsConduct thorough legal research to support litigation strategies and case preparationsStay informed about relevant legal developments, precedents, and changes in legislationPrepare, review, and manage legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreementsEnsure all documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and submitted in a timely mannerEnsure that all litigation activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.Monitor changes in legislation that may impact ongoing or future litigationDevelop and manage the litigation budget, ensuring cost-effective handling of casesMonitor and control legal costs, seeking cost-effective solutions and negotiating fees with external counselAllocate resources effectively to ensure the efficient handling of casesManage internal legal team members assigned to litigation mattersIdentify potential litigation risks and develop strategies to mitigate themConduct risk assessments and advise on preventive measuresHandle insurance claims related to litigation, coordinating with insurers as neededEnsure timely and effective communication with insurance providersProvide regular updates to senior management and the board on the status of litigation casesPrepare reports and presentations on litigation outcomes, trends, and strategic recommendationsServe as the primary point of contact for all litigation-related mattersFacilitate effective communication between the company and external legal counselMinimum requirements:Bachelors degree in Law (LLB) is requiredA Masters degree (LLM) or relevant certification is preferredAdmission as an Attorney or Advocate7 years of experience in litigation management or a relatedProven track record of managing complex litigation casesExperience working with external legal counsel and managing legal budgetsStrong understanding of litigation processes, legal principles, and relevant legislationExceptional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner
