NB: *Our Client does not want Windows specialists but proper Linux specialists*
To manage Linux system to ensure adequate security and optional performance of the operating system.
To secure the Unix system by establishing and enforcing policies defining and monitoring access.
Must have experience in installing and manage Linux based Servers (Red hat and Alma Linux) + Security audits on UNIX systems
Must have Monitoring servers using Nagios xi, Zabbix, ProTop + Network bandwidth with MRTG
Experience doing Install , maintain security patches on operational development system, Red Hat Linux, Windows 2012, VMWare, PostgreSQL, + Apache web services.
Install and manage apache web server and tomcat (http, https)
Install and manage Linux based Systems.
Configure filesharing (samba, NFS)
Job automation schedule (cron)
Build and maintain system scripts to help maintain Linux server Infrastructure.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Manage Home/ User directory permissions.
Assist with application software, package installation and maintenance on UNIX servers.
Linux printer installation and maintenance (cups)
Linux Password hardening (PAM)
Configuration, Maintenance, Monitoring of Progress databases + Backup and restore Database.
Configure local storage and file systems.

Manage user and group authentication using LDA
Monthly Salary R30 000 – R35 000 Cost to company - non-negotiable
