About The Role
We are currently looking for a well organised Legal Assistant, with good attention to detail, to join our Wye Valley (Ross-on-Wye), Residential Conveyancing team.
This team deals with mostly local sales, purchases and transfers on behalf of existing and new clients. The team does not deal with volume panel conveyancing and instead receives recommendations from existing clients and other departments within the firm.
Reporting to a Conveyancer you will provide efficient legal administration to the fee earners and other colleagues within the team.
Duties of a Legal Assistant: Prepare and issue sale contracts.Assist with conveyancing completions including the financial documents.Conduct searches (Local Authority, Land Registry, Lawyer search, Insolvency, Compliance Regulation).Take client and agent telephone calls, fielding enquiries as appropriate.Prepare new matter quotes as outlined by the fee earner.First point of contact for administrative and business support requirements for fee-earners including photocopying, scanning.File opening and closing using the firm's case management system (SOS).Collate client AML documentation for review by the fee-earner.Lexel compliance and reviews.Prepare exchange and completion letters.Deal with post completion formalities and registration at the Land Registry.Keep the matter file up to date on the case management system. Joining our Residential Conveyancing team gives you access to a career pathway as a Licensed Conveyancer via the CLC qualification. Individuals can enrol on the Level 4 CLC apprenticeship and if successful progress onto the Level 6 CLC apprenticeship whilst in a fee-earning conveyancing role. Accessing these qualifications requires a minimum of 12 months service and a career development plan with a sponsoring Partner.
About You
The right candidate will: Possess sound knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and Zoom.Experience of working in a client facing environment.Highly organised and comfortable working in an ever changing environment.Experience in case management systems would be advantageous.Demonstrate excellent attention to detail in all aspects of their work.Previous experience within an administrative role.History of delivering tasks towards deadlines.Concise communicator, with accurate typing abilities.
