Legal AdvisorAn exciting opportunity is available for a qualified and experienced admitted attorney to join TFG Africa's Property legal team as a legal advisor.The successful candidate will also be required to provide legal advice and services to TFG's service and retail divisions.Key responsibilities will include:Primarily drafting, reviewing and negotiating lease agreementsEnsuring that relevant lease contract information is correctly captured on SAP RE to ensure timeous and correct payment of lease chargesProvide legal advice, services and support to TFG PropertyProvide legal advice, services and support to certain TFG retail and/or services divisions which includesdrafting, negotiating and settling contractsproviding ongoing advice and assistance to business regarding contract terms, enforcement and implementationongoing legal advice to business to ensure compliance with applicable legislation (including POPIA, CPA and GDPR)dispute resolution including advising and assisting business with letters of demand and summons, the resolution of escalated customer and ombudbriefing and managing external attorneys for any outsourced matters and opinions and facilitating the conduct of those mattersYou must be:an admitted attorney with a minimum of 3 years post admission experience at a law firm or as an inhouse legal advisorable to build good relationships and effectively communicate with stakeholders across all levels of the business as well as third party attorneys, legal advisors and service providers while maintaining objectivity and always acting in the best interest of TFGa critical and analytical thinker with a strong research abilitysolution orientedable to work in a team or independently, under pressure in a demanding environmentforward thinking and business minded while remaining objectiveYou must have:a LLB Degreecurrent practical experience drafting, negotiating and settling agreementsexperience providing legal advice as a practising attorney or inhouseHighly advantageous would be:Experience reviewing and drafting lease agreementsCompetencies:Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in adaptability, decision making, interpersonal relations, problem solving, teamwork & written communicationComfortable and effective influencerYou need to be flexible as the environment is very dynamic and priorities can changeSets ambitious goals and takes focused action to achieve desired outcomes to deliver measurable resultsAdapts effectively to situations that are complex, uncertain, or lack guidelines and clear informationInterprets and simplifies complex and contradictory information when resolving organisational problemsAssesses and improves the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of various work processesDevelops plans and prioritises initiatives that align to the organisational goals and objectivesEffectively adjusts their behaviour, approach, and decision-making based on the situationThinks and plans strategically, focusing on the long-term goals and objectives of the organisationPreference will be given, but not limited to, candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
