Job Purpose: The objective is to fill the position of Technology lecturer in the SP&FET Department with a staff member with expertise in this area.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience A relevant Master's degree in Technology Education (excluding ICT/IT) or Engineering Education or Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial EngineeringTechnology or any Engineering subject as a major subject at undergraduate levelA relevant teaching qualification (preferably at secondary school level)At least two (2) years' relevant lecturing experience at tertiary level or five (5) years' relevant experience in SP & FET phase at school level.Specialized knowledge of Methodologies of teaching TechnologyRECOMMENDATIONS Relevant research outputKey Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities Teaching Technology in the SP & FET, and Intermediate Phase departmentsCurriculum development and other learning materialsSupervising students on teaching practiceResearch and involvement in research activities (publications and supervision)Academic administration, development, and administrationAdequate content and pedagogical content knowledgeLearner supportAssessment and quality assuranceNetworking with schools and other networksCoaching and mentoring of students and staffStrong learner focusTeamwork and collaborationMeticulous planning and organizing skillsAbility to align yourself to hybrid teaching and learning models (face-to-face and online learning)Perform other functions as may be assigned by the head of departmentExpert knowledge in TechnologyExcellent teaching skillsExcellent organizational and planning skillsGood presentation skills using different technologies and software for teaching TechnologyExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Excellent interpersonal skillsCoaching and mentoring skillsAbility to work independentlyNetworking with schools/building partnershipsKnowledge of education policies nationally (including CAPS)General Information Closing Date: 20 October 2024
