The successful candidate must play a role in scholarship of research, community engagement and/or professional activities. The candidate should be registered for a PhD and be active in research and innovation activities.Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching and Learning: Teaching and learning within the subject group.Research And Publication: Be able to undertake research, attend conferences and work on their doctoral studies.Supervision: Be able to co-supervise honours research projects at least.Community Engagement: Participate in community engagement projects within the School.Administrative Responsibilities: Be able to assist students with basic inquiries.Minimum RequirementsA Master's degree in Public Administration and Management in the specialized area of Public Management and Governance (NQF Level 9).A minimum of two (2) years' experience in Teaching and Learning of undergraduate and postgraduate students.A minimum of two (2) years' experience in doing research in own studies, producing conference papers and publications as well as MA studies and conference attendance.Functional / Technical Competencies (knowledge And Skills)Knowledge of teaching strategies and student support.Commitment to the achievement of the strategic objectives of the subject group and the school.Excellent analytical abilities and innovative thinking, as well as ability to be self-driven.The ability to function well individually and as part of a team.Good organising skills, as well as the ability to work at a fast-moving pace and comply with stringent deadlines.Ability to use online or virtual teaching and learning platforms.The use of video, recording and sharing tools such as PANOPTO as used in a distance learning environment is required.Supervision for honours research to completion.Candidates are expected to teach across various subject groups within the school.Advanced administrative skills and Behavioural Competencies.BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIESProfessional conduct at all time.Be able to adhere to the NWU vision, mission and values.A high level of professional and ethical conduct.RemunerationThe annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.ENQUIRIES REGARDING JOB CONTENT MAY BE DIRECTED TO: Prof. Kedibone Phago on 018 299 1627ENQUIRIES REGARDING RECRUITMENT PROCESS MAY BE DIRECTED TO: Mr Byron Louw on 018 285 2304CLOSING DATE: 11 September 2024PLANNED COMMENCEMENT OF DUTIES: As soon as possibleKindly take note: applications must be submitted online through the official NWU vacancy website.
